options
so on monday i'm making the call to my insurance company to see what my options are. hopefully... i'll have some options. i feel a little better since last week's ortho visit. time to get to work!! :)
Good luck on Monday, Melissa! Lots of folks have gone through this, and lots of insurance companies have paid for the procedure. You're not asking for anything out of the ordinary.... and you WILL succeed. :)
Yep, Another good luck to you as well! Stay with it, don't give up, like Mary said. Focus on the medical aspects of your jaw, and any issues or discomfort it is/has caused you.
If you can get a doctors note stating medical neccesity you should be golden! I'll think positive thoughts for you today!
Good Luck Melissa! I have Aetna medical, and Delta Dental. Aetna DID approve my surgery. So I think that you will be ok. You may just need to have a surgeon send a letter.
Oh, and all I could think of when I looked at your picture was "Man, those are some BEAUTIFUL eyes!!!" They match your shirt! I'm jealous!
If at first you are denied....try and try again, my friend. Also, if it's an option, Kaiser Permanente is very generous with their coverage of this surgery. Very good surgeons, too. I'm not sure if you have Kaiser where you are. Good luck to you, and know that most of us out here have the same thoughts and frustrations as you--you're not alone.

Check out the Yahoo Support sites for help on getting your claim approved. Your surgeon should be pretty skilled at getting this done, too. Good luck.
